Medical practice - Ghent, Belgium
The project consisted in reorganizing the ground floor premises of an existing down town apartment block into a double medical practice. Its façade was to be rearticulated in compliance with the new functions.
The plan optimizes the combination of circulation spaces and waiting room without compromising the necessary privacy required by the different functions.
The new façade is conceived in precast terrazzo blocks, in accordance with the Belgian blue stone of adjacent buildings. Combined with in depth articulation of the compositional elements, this new massive plinth gives visual support to the formal logic of the upper floors’ concrete façade.
